Possible First Time SAAB Owner

Hello everyone,

I've been a strict Honda owner for the last 4 cars I've owned and I know absolutely nothing about SAAB's. Your input will be greatly appreciated.

I just got back from looking at an '05 Aero with 70K miles on it. I fell in love with the car, but I'm very skeptical of signing the final papers due to my lack of knowledge. I'm basically concerned with what kind of normal maintenance costs I will encounter, and what (if any) major issues are to be expected from this particular model.

I really want this car, but again, really would like to find out the most I can before getting into it. Your feedback is much appreciated. I hope to get enough info from this thread in the next couple days so I can make a final decision this coming Monday.

Thanks again,

Andy

I used to be a strictly Honda owner prior to buying my 93, but now I don't think I can go back to a honda car (I have a honda bike). Maintainance wise the costs are comparable if you're a diy-er. If you're not than it depends on your mechanic. There really aren't many things to watch out for at only 70K.

yeh i was a previous mazda nut i still have a tendency to love rotary engines
but saabs are just as easy and cheap as any other car to work on if you are mechanicaly inclined
but taking one to get serviced usually going to cost big bucks

i see ur out of dfw im from mckinney i used to have a 91 rx7 black you may have seen me streetracing in dallas back in 98--2000

Well, thanks to these couple encouraging replies on top of a lot of other thread search results I'm now a very happy owner of this car. I've had it two days and loving the hell out of it. I never thought a two door would be so easy to replace. :) I look forward to the ownership of this car as well as the support and information found on this site.
