Power locks??

[align=left]Forgive me if this has been discussed, I am new here. I have bought a 2004 9-3 Arc Convertible. It is a fantastic car.
The door locks seem a bit archaic though. For one thing the doors do not lock or unlock automatically, and more importantly, I can not find a power lock switch on the passenger door. The manual seems to indicate there is a twin to the one on the driver's door but mine doesn't have one.
Any help or thoughts would be welcome,

Dom

That's just how the convertibles are... The passengers door don't have a lock button, and they don't lock when you start driving (the sedans dont' either). The sedans do have a lock button on the drivers and passengers doors. I think it's a safety feature on the convertibles. That way you can't be driving through a possibly not so great part of town and a car jacker can't hit the unlock button on the passengers side.

Thanks, Joe. That explains it pretty well. They are quirky cars.

RE: Power locks??

On the Saab, I am surprised that the doors don't automatically lock once it gets up to speed. On previous cars I've hadwith that feature, I lived in terror of the car locking up with the keys in it at the car wash. Modern keys are too bulky to carry around a spare.
