Default Replace original speakers in SAAB 9-3 1999

Hello!
So I recently bought my first SAAB which is a 9-3 2.0T from 1999. It's a really great car and I love it.
But there's one thing I would love to change in it and that's the speakers.
I dont have the AS3 system since I dont have any speakers in my doors behind the speaker grills and the ones currently in the car isnt sounding that good.
It still have the original stereo and I would love to keep that since I have already put in a bluetooth unit so I can use my phone as a source for music.

When looking around I see people talking about replacing the stereo, getting an amplifier and rewiring all the speaker cables etc.
So my question is pretty much if it's possible to just take out the old speakers and put in a pair of new ones without getting an amplifier and rewire the entire system?
I just want it to sound good, not blow my windows out with a huge bass taking up the entire trunk space.

Default Have you found a solution?

I know it’s been a while but I was just wondering what your solution was. I have the same car and my speakers sound blown. I haven’t installed the Bluetooth unit yet but want to keep the factory unit installed
