viggen turbo boost?

I have a '01 Viggen and I think the turbo boost gauge doesn't go as high as it used to. It now barely goes into the mid yellow, I thought it used to go into high yellow/low red. the car has 70,000 on it, it had a new pop off valve replaced about 20,000 ago. The car just seems a little slower than it once was. What do you think or know? Thanks

could be a number of things...one of which could be a leak in the vacuum hoses. It's hard to diagnose it without more information.

Same Concern

I'm having just about the same thing happen to mine. I have replaced my ignition casset with a brand new one from the Saab Dealer. It helped a little bit, but my boost gauge still doesnt go into red. It gets to the far end of yellow. I checked and rechecked all my vacuum hoses. They are all intact. Air filter is new, No pending dtcs. No corrosion on any electrical terminals. This is a pretty phantom problem. I even had the Service manager of saab re-flash my ecu. still nothing. All intake components are secure and intact. Waste gate is fine, checked it myself. If i pull the 'W' hose off, it will go into overboost, past the red, but then trionic will limit boost until the car is restarted. So i know it is capable of full boost, and that its not a turbo problem. Any direction to go would be great. Plugs have also been replaced with OEM plugs, no aftermarket crap. All Saab Genuine. Needless to say my wallet hates me.
