what is this?

if anyone knows what this is, please tell me! WHAT IS NEXT TO THE ONSTAR BUTTON? THE ROUND HOLE?

It's one of the car's several automatic environment control sensors. It's what reads the car's cabin temp to adjust the climate control system and heat/cool the car.
