Whining noise when cold
 

Hi Guys,

Need a little help figuring this one out.

Got a second hand gearbox put into the car last month as old one was completely shot. Gearbox that is now in the car has 75k miles on it and was out of a crashed saab - it is the exact same model. fm 55507 i think is the model.

Anyway, a week after the gearbox was replaced, when I start the car and drive off, I can hear a whining noise (very similar to gearbox whine) when the car is cold. Odd thing is, the whine is only heard when accelerating, unlike gearbox whine which is heard when slowing down.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I need some peace of mind.

check fluid level...can you feel vibration at all from the tranny?
