Default Considering buying a 2003 9-5 Linear

So, I mentioned to someone I was buying a Saab and they started to flip out. Explaining to me how they are unreliable and have tons of issues. I'm trying to do my part and research it but have only come across a handful of bad comments compared to the positive ones. Does anyone own one? If so, can you please tell me how it's working out for you? Thanks!

I just bought a 9-5 ARC myself. I did a lot of research on them and it looks like reliability is decent. ALTHOUGH everyone you talk to, especially BMW and Volva owners will tell you they are junk. Well I have to tell you, we owned a 02 Volva C70 convertible with 40k on it and it was the most unreliable peice of junk I have ever owned. BMW on the other hand(which I also own a 99 328iC Convertible) is very reliable, just expensive to buy.

What is the description of the car? How much are you spending? I got mine for $13500, and that was cheap enough that I could keep my convertible too, and its an ARC 3.0T in perfect condition.

I will admit that all the bad coments about reliability have me thinking about an extended warranty, but in the end, you cant hardly even get a Ford that cheap and they are unreliable as hell.

I have a 2003 saab 9-5 linear exactly what you are looking for. I've put 92000 miles on it, mostly highway and I think it's a great car. I started having problems around 80,000 miles and I found a very cheapmechanicwho is a saab specialist andi'm very greatul for this because the only saab dealer besides this mechanic is a very pricey dealerthat has outrageous prices, andit wasabout 500 to 600 dollars everytime I had a problem, many of them whichwere electrical. So if you buy one, hopefully there is a cheap mechanic around.Problems usually occur once a year or so. hope this helps
