Default rebuild kits for saab 9-5

I just purchased a 3.0L 99 saab 9-5 off of ebay for 1g. It has a bad engine and I would much rather rebuild than replace. I have a good machine shop and I think they can get me a rebuild kit but I am looking for some costs upfront. Does anyone know where I can find a rebuild kit for this car.

Is it a snapped timing belt engine?? What is the extent of the damage? Have you pulled the heads?

I just got it towed home, a 12 hour drive across nebraska and back. Anyway I have it stored until I finish the focus that is in my garage currently. It has 150000 miles so I just figured rebuild because it is going to be for my girlfriend. She is buying everything and wants it to be in great condition for a long time to come. I tried to start it and it turned over pretty slow hooked up to my Tahoe, it wouldn't actually start. Anyway the previous owner said there were metal shavings in the oil. Hopefully in the next week i'll get it parked and ready to start pulling stuff out. Was just going to pull engine and trans and rebuild both. I am trying to get parts resources together. I found one online store that could sell me pieces and build me a makeshift kit. The body is in great shape as is the leather and interior. All the electronics seem to work great. I think we got a good deal, although I think I could have gotten it for a couple hundred less. So in short I haven't pulled anything yet, but from what I understand there is metal shavings in the oil.

www.eeuroparts.com and thesaabsite.com are my two sources for parts when doing saab rebuilds. thesaabsite has transmission parts that dealers have a hard time finding.

Do you know where I can find a manual for the 9-5 3.0 V6? I found a european haynes manual i think because it looks hard bound. It was for saab 9-5, correct year but did not include 3.0L engines. By now I can figure everything out on my own, but I still need torque specs for engine parts. piston caps, crank caps, head bolts, etc. any ideas? i checked the eeuropeparts and found some kind of manual but i dont think it is what i need.

Done. There were two and I wasn't sure which one to get, but I suspect they were the same just the description wasnt very accurate. One said for saab 9-3 and 9-5. one said for 9-5 only. but the one for both said it had overhaul procedures and had my year so i bought it right away. hopefully going to get the car in the garage this weekend. Ill let you know how it goes.
