well if its a 08 im not sure that is the new style..but 03-07 is the same..i have a 03' and my style the radio isnt too tiny..itsa huge box with the infotainment screen...the base isnt big big but u can get a adapter from your local saab dealer and hook up subs/amp/capacitor to your regular hook up...or if you dont mind spending money u can do what im opting for...next monday my local car stereo place is putting a head unit in it (jensen flip up dvd/nav) but this is extremely hard b/c they will have to make a custon dash kit for it and harness...and the antenna is digital and their tryin to make it into coaxial...its gonna take 3 days to complete but from then on ill have my headunit with subs/amp and all of that right their in a easy control..and b able to watch movies..whats not to like???but this is gonna cost me 400-700 to install...as for wiring being hooked up wrong i doubt it unless its really really soft like you cant hear the stereo while driving

I think MJW69 meant it sounds like tin. tinny. Am I wrong??? If there were speakers put into it the polaritys could be wrong. make sure the + wire goes to the + terminal of the speaker. etc etc

Thanks to all replies.
Yes I have the Bass set on max, and treble almost minimum, I am not that stupid!!
I have had cars for over 20 years and this must be the most dire radio ever!!
So there must be some underlying problem????
The last owner had a hands free kit for his mobile, could that have any influence if it was taken out wrong and thewiring interferred with?
