Default 05 Saab 9-3 chipped console buttons

When I picked up the Saab there was a couple chips in the console buttons, so just the white is showing. I got such a good price and had to have them order a key for it, so I didn't have them fix it. Does anyone know of a way to fix the buttons, or is there a place that I could order new ones? I figure if I sell it in the next couple years it may help. Plus it just looks better that way.

Default Chipped Buttons

If it's just the black coating that has chipped off I find that a permanent black marker hides the chips. You may have to apply a second dab a day later (gives the first dab good drying time).

If the chip goes into the white text you either have to be an artist or talk with a junk yard about scavanging pieces out of a dashboard or control unit (climate control, radio, etc).

Good Luck.

Default found a kit

So I found a button replacement kit on SaabUSAparts.com. It has the front ac buttons and everything. The kit $70 US. A little pricey for a few plastic buttons, but its the only thing i have found so far.

Thumbs up Button Kits

Hi there, I had also bought an 04 Saab Aero convertible and found almost the whole car in mint condition other than the buttons for radio, AC panel, convertible top, etc. I found that there are kits for the AC panel and there are two kits. One kit is made for heated seats (Saab # 12781996) and the other for non-heated seats (Saab # 12781996). You can buy the non-heated seat kit on ebay and I did find them avail on saabspoilers.com too. Most of the other sites who list them are out of stock so be leery and inquire before purchasing otherwise you'll tie your money up and wait a week to hear "They are backordered" and you'll be wondering how long before you get your credit back. This is the case with many parts so it does not hurt to email and ask in advance. I see now I am writing on an older post so just thought I would help those who may be having the same problem. If anyone has found the other buttons that can be replaced for the other panels and radio I would love to know. I wish there were more parts readily available. Thanks in advance for your help. John
