Hi I hope someone can give me some advice. I have a 2004 9-3 1.9 Diesel Saab. For the last couple of weeks the engine has started to stutter on accelleration. It idles fine and over 2500 RPM it's fine. When you accelerate the engine seems to die, if you dip the clutch and give it some gas it stutters to 2500RPM then reves OK.

This is now becomming a real problem because every time i go to pull away i dont know if it is going to stutter or not.

ANY HELP OR ADVISE WOULD BE FANTASTIC.

did you go through the usual suspects like fuel filter and dirty injectors?

 

Thanks for your advise. To be honest, i dont have a clue about engines. Are these dificult things to check? and if not how do i?

on a diesel - no idea. We don't have diesel 93's here, so I never had a chance to look one over.

 

I have to say you are very lucky!!!!

 

How so? I'd like to have a variety of diesels available... than I could brew my own fuel...

 

Diesels are just so slow. Well apparently it's the turbo intercooler, which is going to set me back about £500. Happy days!!

Just another bill to add to my growing total for this car. It must be the most unreliable car i have ever owned, and the most expensive to fix!!

 

Um, what's wrong with the intercooler? Is it punctured?

 

Not sure to be honest, it is with my dealer now and i'll find out tomorrow. I'll let you know.
