Recently my six disc cd player in my 2003 9-3 has stopped working. I played burned CDs in the changer for awhile with no problem but then they started to skip occassionally. I took all the burned CDs out, inserted clean new retail CDs and I get a long pause and then Disc Error message every time.

Do I need to have my SID reset? Or is this a larger problem?

Here is the problem with burned CDs...especially RWs. They are written lighter than retail ones and while getting read they heat up. That heat could be damaging to the changer.
