Default Clutch! :(

Hey all I am a new saab owner and I have a problem. Upon driving the car I had owned for no less than 5 hrs, the trans made a loud noise and the clutch pedel sank to the floor. Upon inspection, I see organic material all over the place so the clutch in my mine had gernaded. Is the oem "sachs" clutch pretty good or should I use an exedy? And is this a diy job or should I bring it to a shop?

If you're mechanically inclined it is a DIY job. If you do not plan on modifying the car there's no reason to get non-oem. Try our sponsor Euro Parts Direct for a clutch kit.

hmm ya see I am undecided. What kind of clutch are you running and off hand do you know of any online walk-throughs? I am mech inclined and reading from saabs website its a pretty straight-forward swap. Any advice is appreciated!

I don't think I have an online DIY in my favorites, but I did a clutch job on other cars and it literally is: remove/disconnect everything attached to tranny, unbolt tranny and cover, take it out on a tranny jack, than replace the clutch and you also should resurface the flywheel, and put everything back together. There is a Haynes manual out for the car if you look on ebay.

Dang....I was thinking I could just change it from the engine bay I was thinking of skipping the ole resurfacing of the flywheel cause the clutch was installed in december. I dunno though... ugh...

wait, are you 100% positive that it is the clutch, not the clutch master cylinder? Pictures of the "organic material" please. It could have been remains from something else in there....
