Default Tips for buying

Hey everyone, my name is Chris, i'm new to this forum.

I'm contemplating buying a 97 Saab (duh) 900SE (4cyl turbo), manual transmission. This would be my first Saab
It's got 174000 miles on it and seems to be in mostly good shape except for the ebrake (no biggie).
I'm taking it by a mechanic tommorow (anyone know a good one in Portland OR?).

Anything in paticular to look for?
The gear box works, but seems a little creapy, and the engine runs strong. Although when listening to it with the hood open I seems a little "clicky", maybe it's just me.

Thanks!
Chris

"clicky" is most likely the timing chain tenshioneer. The chain is most likely due for replacement. Also most weird feeling transmissions are actually problems with the engine mounts. I'd say new engine mounts and a new timing chain are about due.
