Default Birthday Gift

I just bought my wife a 2000 9-3 Convertible for her 50th. After looking for awhile I thought the saab was the best looking convertible and just the right size.

The interior is a little funky looking but so far I love driving the car - hoping it last us for a few years!!

I'm sure I will be visiting the forum often...

Congrats on the purchase. What is the mileage on the car? Also, there are a coupe of aftermarket improvements that make the convertible handle a lot better.

http://www.genuinesaab.com/catalog/p...products_id=35 - read the reviews from convertible owners - they tell the best story.

Thanks for the replies - still figuring out exactly how the posting works here so if reply is sent to more than I intended I apologize.

Roto - I have 75,000 on the 2000. I was initially looking at the 04s due to the body and interior changes in that year but they were just out of my budge for a spare car. This car was on my B list to check out but when I saw I had to buy it - both the exterior and interior are in great shape.

I was thinking about looking into the suspension - it’s a rough ride over any type of bump on the road and was thinking about new shocks or struts??? But then again it’s a weekend car and I'm sure I will be spending money to keep it mechanically sound. Already posted about a small coolant leak I'll need to address soon...

genuinesaab.com is your place for upgrades and eeuroparts.com is for cheap (and quick) replacement parts in the states.

Now, please, do yourself a favor and pull off and clean the oil pan. That's cheap insurance against having engine failure.
