need a little help with this damn car. i bought a 1996 saab 900s non turbo and the other day i was backing up and the car kind of popped out of gear so i tried to put it back in reverse and discovered that revesre was no reverse just wouldnt move. it shifts great through 1-5th but no reverse PLEASE GOD HELP ME!!!! thanks adam

 

Have you tried putting it into reverse with the engine shut off?

 

it has to be in reverse to get the key out but i havnt check to see if it catches. but i have had someone tell me that either the front or the rear trans mount may have gone bad wht do you guys think of that?

 

Possible, but unlikely. By the way there are three mounts on the engine/transmission. They all suck.

 

well that is unlikl then what would you first suggest that i check first? plus 4t of july night i sat in traffic for an withe carrunning and air condition on then when i i got ready to get out of the traffic jam the cars check engine light popped on the dash maybe you could aslo help me with that.....
