Default Fresh from the wash

Just posting some pictures of my new (to me) '02 9-3 SE. Had it two weeks and am really enjoying it. It needs a little bit of work on some issues (sunroof squeak, oil seepage from head gasket) but nothing too major. Also had it safety checked at the local Saab dealership. It was worth the $45 for that!

An SE will treat you well for a very long time! I like this car! Just so you know there are ECU upgrades that don't require any additional parts and those really make it a fun little beast. I would forget the word dealership if I were you unless of course you have a warranty. Those tend to be the biggest ripoff.

Thanks! Where can I find the ECU upgrades?

I was already planning to keep the dealership at arm's length, but I wanted them to inspect the car in case I needed to make a Lemon Law claim. They weren't involved in the sale, so I was getting an impartial judgement.

No warranty, except for a 60 day powertrain warranty, so that safety inspection was a real reassurance. I recommend anyone who buys a used car to pay the $50 or so for a thorough, certified technician. It's given me a good vector on where to start my tweaking, and helped me avoid a lemon.

you can get tuned ECUs from either JakStollPerformance.com or genuinesaab.com, you're looking for T7 ECUs. You should call both places and tell them what it is that you're looking for. it's around 750 from JSP and 950 from GS. Both places also offer things like performance exhausts, intakes, intercoolers, suspension upgrades....GS also has upgrade packages of staged tunes.

Don't be pickin' on Roto now I have my fun and I also pay a lot for it (rough ballpark of 5K in "extras"). At some point I'm retiring the saab into the daily driver, but this isn't happening this season that's just about to begin
