Default New Saab Owner

Stopping to say "hi". I signed the papers for an '03 93 Arc tonight. Great looking car, grey with grey interior. It's pretty well loaded, including some options I haven't seen on most other Arc models for sale around here like the xenon head lamps, 6 disc in-dash CD, and Park Assist to name a few. As far as I can tell it's bone stock, which is a good thing in my book. It only has 45K miles and I got an extra set of "winter wheels & rims".

I'll pick the car up tomorrow night from the guy who sold it and I can't wait. I'll post some pics as soon as I get my camera back (my sister just had her first baby! I'm an uncle and new Saab owner, all in the same day!)

I checked with the local Saab dealer to make sure the car has had all applicable recalls completed and it has. He did say an engine management software update needs to be done though so I'll be scheduling that soon.

Well I'll be dropping in from time to time I'm sure, with questions as well as just for general dicussion. I plan to install the AUX input immediately. Other than that no plans for mods at this time.

Welcome to the forum. Can't wait to see pics of that car since I'm not all that familiar with the newer models.

Hmmm, well I should've known. The bank messed up the paperwork. I'll be picking it up tomorrow. Pics, I promise.

I don't think I will ever buy private party again. It's been 3 weeks getting this mess wrapped up.

Well I picked it up tonight. I just got home.

The car drives great and looks great too. Everything is working perfectly, except.... ...the 6 disc changer. Slot 4 had a disc in it when I went to put mine in. I didn't think anything about it until I noticed the #4 button wasn't illuminated anymore when I was almost home. I tried to switch to it but it wouldn't. I could hear it trying but it wouldn't. I can't get the CD out of the changer either.

It's not a huge deal, I'm a little disapponted but more so because I think the guy probably knew it was not working correctly and never mentioned it to me. I mean his CD was still in there (in slot 4 to boot, not like he had it in slot 1 beacuse it was the only disc he was listening to). Like I said, other than that it's almost perfect. I have a lot of reading to do in the coming days. I need to figure out how everything works. I'm especially eager to figure out where it's at as far as next scheduled service.

I'm going to try to get pictures tomorrow. I'm beat now. Anyone know of a Saab 6 disc changer laying around anywhere for $10

Later

Okay, my mistake[:-]I never loaded a CD in slot 4.
Still no camera. I'm patiently waiting.

FINALLY!!! Sorry, my sister had my camera for way longer than I thought. No biggie, my niece is worth it!

Here's a night shot, I suck at photography but I'm experimenting. Once it's all polished up I'll get day pics up as well.
