Default Launch Control

I have an 01 9-3 SE with an automatic transmission. Recently I tried something. I switched the driving mode to Sport, disengaged the TCS (traction control), left footed the brake while pressing the gas. This pre-loaded the power convertor in the transmission and spooled up the turbo. With the engine revving at around 3000 RPM I released the brake and floored the accelerator simultaneously. Both front wheels spun briefly andoff I went. I swear (but don't holdme to this)that the 1-2, 2-3shift went MUCH quicker than normal.

I tried this same procedure with manually shifting from 1-2, 2-3 but the engine wanted to bump off of the rev limiter before shifting.

I wouldn't recommend doing this a lot but it did seem to help with launches. Anyone else ever try this?

I don't drive an auto, but that's how most auto trannies work

that makes sence considering how auto trannys work (shift off oil pressure) it would make sence that revving the **** out of it and pre loading the entire drive train would improve shfting performance
