Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert is the highest level of certification available in the field of networking. As such it is not easily achievable. Cisco identifies a CCIE as a person who demonstrates a broad theoretical knowledge of wireless networking and a solid understanding of wireless LAN technologies from Cisco, the market leader in WLAN technology.
Cisco has been providing this certification for the past fifteen years. The CCIE Routing and Switching module covers Internet Protocol, non-IP desktop protocols such as IPX and bridge related technologies. CCIE SNA/IP Integration covers Cisco Mainframe Channel Connectivity and System Network Architecture, etc.
