New to the Forum. Former 900 owner. SAAB tech in 80's and 90's

Just bought my wife a 2008 9-3 Sport Sedan.

Wondering what it takes to replace original rear view mirror with the Auto dimming, compass, Home-link function. Is it a matter of just plugging in or will it take some wiring mods.

Also, has anyone installed an '09 On Star unit so you have Bluetooth function?
I don't particularly like having the Parrot unit strapped to the dash as I've seen recommended on other posts.
