9-3 Transmission leak and flywheel
Bought a new (old) 2009 9-3 2.0T and am inspecting it for maintenance & fixes. I found a pretty obvious leak around the transmission area which I think is coming from the transaxle. Couple drops per day I'd say, nothing ridiculous.
The other thing I'm concerned about is that I can see a gear inside of the transmission. It's somewhat rusty and completely dry. Kinda freaked me out cause I would assume you shouldn't be able to see directly inside any of these "core" components? Initially thought someone had replaced the transmission with an almost compatible model. But flipping through the part diagrams apparently it's the flywheel and there's a "slot" for it.
Is that true? Both with the leak and the flywheel.
