Been a Saab owner for years. Just bought my first 9-3 Conv for my son. The top will engage but stops. If I hold the top in the position that it stops to keep it from falling, turn the key off and immdiately back on, I can hit the close/open switch and it will continue to open or close. It will do this about three to four times, but completes a full open or close.

What is happening that turning the ignition switch off and on again would reset the top to continue to operate? I have read several posts about the sensors or switches. Also, I have noticed that the hydralics reservoir is almost full to the top. Could that be the problem, is it to full?

Engine on and the top starts to come down then stops. I turn the key off and back on and roof starts to move again then stops again. Repeat 4 times until cycle is complete and roof is down and then repeat to put top up.
any help would be great.
