Default Engine maintenance and oil sludge question

I've been reading through different forums and found that a lot of saab owners had engine completely gone due to oil sludge ,there's several reasons for it such as engine construction and improper engine maintenance etc.
It seems that saab(and not only saab) have sludge problem but is it possible to avoid costly engine repairs caused by oil starvation of the engine?
I drive 1999 9-3se since the beginning of december ,i already did some repairs ,changed some suspension parts to make alignment (still have outer rod bent from previous owner),downpipe fix at meineke (i'd better get new one for that price ).
Had to change battery and did the oil change at the same time it was really dark though it was less than 3000mi since last change.
Lately it seemed that engine is heating a little bit more ,it still keeps temperature at the middle, but once every 10-15 min the radiator fan start to go on for a minute or so even when it's 24 degrees outside.I don't know maybe it's normal thing, maybe i just looking for something suspicious in my car and paranoid about it .
Roto had post about oil sludge and how to clean the oil pan and screen on the bottom of it.I want to do that ,but i don't have money for mechanic, and it would be great to find somebody who has the same car as mine and does all the job by himself ,i just need some tips on how to do certain things from the previous experience and i need a garage to do all this.Is there anybody in NY area who can give me a hand with this?In exchange i can offer you help with your car or something else.

P.S:I want to try to clean engine by using Auto-RX (do you know is it really work?).

DO NOT use Auto-Rx before cleaning the pan. Reason: it'll knock all the dirt from everywhere and bring it into the oil pan. Taking the pan off is not THAT difficult... Although it does involve getting the subframe loose...

You got a good idea about dropping the pan after doing a flush. I can tell you that you'll need to undo the front and middle subframe bolts and support the subframe, after that undo the oilpan bolts, pry it off and wiggle it past the subframe...easy in theory and pretty damn difficult to wiggle it out Just don't force it and it'll be fine. If only you were closer to philly, I have a great mech who does these things and that saab place I told you about is also here...
