Umh,I think it's the weak timing belt tensioneer personally...very comon on the V6's... just make sure that when you go to fix it you don't pay $80 for a valve...they're like 10/ea

Yea, the tensioner for the fan belt is worn but that shouldn't affect the timing usually. It's just all very strange

No, I know, i was just asking if you think that the serpentine belt coming off could have made it jump time? Knowing that the tensioner pulleys are usually weak, do you think that it's plausable that it jumped time when the serpentine belt came off due to the increased momentum after the belt let go? I ask because you seem to have more experience with Saab's than I.
Thanks,
Jason

I had a similar problem with a customers V8 jaguar. it turned out to be the piston rings. auto choke was staying on and washing the cylinders down. wearing the rings and eventually it just wouldn't start. It was a little smokey before this happened, and was burning oil by the truckload. I don't suppose this was the case......

Seems that there was no compression and maybe the timing belt is wrong. First first if the timing belt is installed correctly. Better take that to the shop. The belt when it broke may have moved the sensor out of position or damaged the wiring to it. Try checking the battery connections too. They only need to be a tiny bit loose to cause problems. Also try checking the water in the battery if it gets low it can ruin your battery.

We took the heads off and found that ALL the Intake Valves were bent. We are having them rebuilt for $730,now we have to find a place toget a tension pulley and a water pump while were there. Anyone know where to get a good price on parts?
