i have a 2004 9-3 linear with a hollow rattle noise coming from the front drivers side wheel well. i think i've narrowed it to a strut issue, but i've heard about some emission fan in that well? i was told that they come loose and as long as you can live with the noise, it'll be fine. he also said that the fan is extremely expensive to fix, so if it doesn't need to be, i'll probably wait. just checking to see if anyone else has had a "fan" issue or if i should just suck it up and buy the strut before my new tires go bald.
