Well, I got it checked by a mechanic, and he told me it was in fact CV grease, although not for the reason I believed.

He said the CV Joints we're recently replaced,
and the grease was there because the previous mechanic didn't clean it up.

I only got the car 5 days ago, so I wouldn't know.

The joints do look relatively new, but I didn't notice the grease there when I got it.

I don't hear creaking, clanking, or anything when I turn, so I think I'll just clean up the gunk, and see if it comes back. Hopefully not.
