Default Saab wont start!

Hi everybody,

I would like your advice formy 9-3 saab 2006 model. The engine cranks but it will not start if I leave the engine to cool off. It requires at least 3 efforts while pressing the throttle for the engine to start. If the the engine is hot it starts normally. I will probably go on Saturday to a mechanic but because I have little knowledge about the matter and I do not want to ''be tricked'' I would be grateful if anyone can give me a ''head's up'' for the most probable reason for this problem. Thanks

Thanks for your answer. It might be the battery but the lights and every electric component(cd, speakers, lights) work fine.

Smile problem solved

Hi guys,

I went to a mechanic and he changed the glow plugs and tighten some cables near the fuel rail system. He said that should fix the problem. He said he ckecked start-up motor, di cassette, fpr, cds and all scans were ok. Apparently, the problem remained and every time the engine was cold the crank was long till the cart started. I searched some forums and I found similar problems so I took the initiative to change the battery. The one that it had was 650cca and 2y old. I bought a 780cca one and the problem was solved. I advice anyone that has the same issue to check first the battery.
