Default time for service--65,000K

This is a repeat of my post in the Newbie's forum.

Just bought an 04 9-3 with 65K. Time for service light on SID just appeared.
Am I wrong to assume that the dealership I bought it from (Subaru dealership) would have serviced it completely before selling it? Maybe they did and no one knew how to clear the SID message?
Am very willing to baby my baby, but want to make sure it's time to do just that. I have a very reliable, independent Saab mechanic.

I would think twice before trusting ANY dealership, but like I said in the other thread, it's just a timer.
