Alright boys. I’m 21 years old and I’m a mechanic. That being said I just started so I have messed up more than I can count already. Here’s the spill. Axle seal ended up getting smoked so I replaced it, I lost a lot of tranny fluid and I still drove to my work and parked it. Well the guys at the shop were having a hard time finding the fluid which I was aware I was going to have to dig into. Well one of them said he’s got the mineral based stuff and what not and brought it and we put it in. Mind you the wrong fluid. So I’m about to try and do a flush and pray I didn’t do irreversible damage. And if I did I’m going to have to buy another sub frame and transmission. Now the transmission bolts and what not can be reused. My subframe bolts cannot. Rusted out terribly, I’ve welded the frame together with some rebar so it wouldn’t collapse over a pothole. So I’m trying to find new hardware for the subframe bolts and I need help figuring out what ones I need and how many, which I think the subframe itself in the front holds 8. Any thoughts?
