Default trunk latch help?

so I have a '01 9-3 which I was using to move the other day and the trunk wouldnt close soIi used the latch and the little bar thing it usually locks to to tie it closed. the problem is is that since the latch closed without it locking to the bar, I cant get it open again. I've tried unlocking it with the remote and the door control, with the car on and off and it makes the sound it usually does, but the latch stays closed so now i cant close my trunk.
any ideas? Thanks!

The exact same thing happened to my 2000 saab 9-3. Luckily the trunk is heavy enough so it will not bounce up and down while you are driving even though it is not closed. Anyway, to solve your problem, what i did was take it to my saab dealer to get a quote on how much it would cost to fix it and to find out what the problem was. They told me they fixed it in 5 minutes and all they did was lubricate the latch. I do not know what they used, but i am sure you can try some WD40. They did not even charge me for this service, so maybe you can try your luck with them. Good luck.

I'm sure you must have figured this out already, but if you haven't you just need to pull the emergency handle/cord on the inside of the trunk.
