Any suggestions why my Saab 93 Vector 18i with only 56,000 miles on the clock is using half a litre of oil every 300 miles? There is no sign of any leaks at all and no smells to suggest burning oil and also no smoke! Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks

 

Unfortunately, that's most likely the turbo. Take off the intake pipe piece leading to the turbo and see if there's oil there.

 

Thank you for your responses to my two queries. FYI the car is 1.8i and does not have a turbo. Do you have any other suggestions what could be causing the leak?

 

Oh... in that case - I'm not familiar with that motor. It's not USDM and that's all I'm familiar with.
