Default 01 9-5

Hi all! Recently joined this forum and like what I see.

I purchased a 2001 9-5 SE (new in model year) as a dealer demo with 7300 miles. Have driven it religiously since all over the country, ran out of the warranty in 2004 and now have 151K on odometer and plan to drive it until the V6 goesat which point I'll buy another motor. This car is indestructible, ultra safe, ultra-optioned and besides looks great in tuxedo black, black-out windows and ceramic coated bright yellow calipers behind those black wheels.

Behind every good car is a shop that knows their stuff and mine is The Swedish Garage in Charlotte, NC. So much so, I bought my wife a 03 9-5 Linear and they do all the serivice as well.

Should I have any concerns with the mileage on my 01 for any failures (tranny, mounts, turbo, radiator, etc)?

Try to be a careful owner: oil is changed at 3300 miles, Mobile 1 synthetic since new, 95 or higher octane gas always, tire choices vary (Pirelli, Yokohoma, BFG, Kuhmo, Dunlop A2, etc)but rotations every 6000 miles. I have had to replace the SID 2x and the harmonic balancer in HK 2x.

Recently upgraded to K&N filter, Eibach springs, Bilstein shocks. No interest in performance chips - have supercharged Corvette for that itch. Any help or ideas if appreciated.

I believe an oil cooler failure is pretty common on those cars...ask your shop about it

It that a high mileage issue or a common failure on the 2001 9-5? Any preventatives?

I think it's a rather common issue and the only remedy is replacement when it fails..
