Default Anti theft failure

Hello: I purchased an 04 Saab 9-5 Arc this past summer. I must say that I am very satisfied. However I do have an issue with the Anti-theft system. I am getting a "Anti-theft failure contact service." message on my SID. This message appears intermitently and it doesn't matter if the car was armed or not. Any Ideas?

might just be a 9-5 electrical problem...I currently have a 03 9-3 and almost everytime I turn on my car or start..tells me my tailights have a failure...either the right one or the left...sometimes both..i just keep hitting clear to get rid of them so..neither of my bulbs are burned out

and another thing..do a little test for yourself...wind your window down half way and lock the door...try to unlock it by stickiting your hand inside..that should set the alarm off..if it dont...then you really do have a anti-theft problem

the antitheft failure has been linked to the batteries in the siren going bad. Not sure if your generation is the same, but if it is it may be time to replace them batteries
