Default Car Trouble

I would just like to start by saying hello. My girlfriend had just bought a 2002 Saab 9-5 Linear wagon about 3 weeks ago. Just recently the low coolant light has been coming on sporadically and we have been hearing a noise coming from the air conditioner. I am not sure if the the compressor is starting to go. The car has less than 48,000 miles. We took it to the dealership where she purchased it and they supposedly hooked it up to the computer and ran the codes to see what was wrong. They could not find anything wrong. They also had one of their drivers drive it around and could not get the car to replicate the problem. We picked it up today and had the same problems. I am not sure if the dealership is jerking us around or not. It is a Mercedez Benz dealership. I was just wondering if anyone else has had these sort of problems with there Saab? Should we take it to a Saab specific dealership? I am sorry for the long post and I appreciate any information or advice you could give.

Default RE: Car Trouble

We had a similar problem with a 1999 9-5. It would over time loose enough coolant to trigger the warning lite, but was inconsistant in how long it would take. I replaced the 'o' rings on the water pump fitting into the block and that cured it. In your case, the water pump is just above the a/c compressor; are you sure you are not hearing a water pump going bad? It could alsoexplain the water leak.
