Hello everyone and hopefully someone can help. I’m sure this is a problem you all know about. I was driving my 2007 2.3 vector estate when it just cut out without warning. It started straight away, but now has very rough idle and stalls when I try to drive. I have replaced the vacuum hoses, the crank position sensor and have cleaned the maf. No change to symptoms. It is running very rich and a black wet sooty residue is coming out of the exhaust. I have a coolant temperature sensor arriving tomorrow. Any ides or help would be gratefully received.
