3" downpipe for 150$!!

So yeah im excited to say that im buying a genuinesaab 3" downpipe for 150$ because a friend of mine has an older saab 9000 pushing 300 horsepower... and he blew the motor... therefor he feels its not a good investment to dump hard earned money into a car thats 16 years old... good for me i guess right? im also buying a t3-60trim turbo off of him good for 400horsepower for 200$ with less that 5k miles on it... im so happy right now? Tiss the season right? haha
Downpipes are about 280$ to buy online anywhere... so im saving 130$ right there.... bargain? ide say so haha. anyways... anyone else get a hold of any good deals?

Holy shmack you're lucky... I keep looking for wheels in a pricerange, but nothing comes up. I've got all my parts full price at GS.

Yeah! I get all of my parts through Genuinesaab. I bought a 2 1/2" delivery pipe off them with the Silicone kit... it works amazing.. much better flow and looks good under the hood :) but yeah im happy... have you heard good things about 9000 strut bars... do they make a good difference.

haven't heard any feedback on them, but anything made by GS usually is proven...can't think of anything that's not a good product from them.

RE: 3" downpipe for 150$!!

yeah definitly a good point man. I love Genuinesaab... good service and cheap shipping. im really hoping that once i get my 3" downpipe and full custom 3" exhaust on.. it gains a decent amount of power. from whati hear it makes alot more power over stock :).. another question.. do you know what the lifespan on a downpipe and exhaust is? i mean do they rust easilly? feedback would be appreciated. thanks.

RE: 3" downpipe for 150$!!

well my version of the downpipe will not rust any time soon since there's no flexpipe...if yours has a flexpipe that would be your first POF. I've had exhausts go for years and than I had that one that wasn't properly made that fell apart in six months....all depends on the quality and the amount of salt in the winter :D

buy your downpipe off of www.genuinesaab.com they have a universal one for any 9000... same with elkparts, abbottracing but much more expensive... go gor GS its a great deal.

I went to GS and saw one that said 3' exhaust for saab 9000, is this the same as a downpipe?

No, that's an exhaust system. This connects to the downpipe. Acually the only downpipe I see there is te JT one that has no catalytic converter in it. With that your car won't pass emissions unless you weld a cat in there.

Is there another place that I could get a downpipe for my car that you know of?

Thanks. I have a couple of questions. First, what exactly will I gain with a downpipe? Second,is jak stoll reliable? And third, is a downpipe easy to install yourself or should you take it to a dealer?

Also I was wondering what the differences are between these: http://www.jakstollperformance.com/9000.html-within this link the early and late downpipes.

RE: 3" downpipe for 150$!!

a downpipe alone will show little gain....a downpipe with exhaust and intake working rogether can show quicker spool-up and some additional power.

RE: 3" downpipe for 150$!!

I am already getting a B&B cold air intake. Would getting a downpipe be worth it if I still have the stock exhaust system?

Roto 12-28-2007 12:29 PM

RE: 3" downpipe for 150$!!

actually yes. You will not see a big increase with the stock exhaust, but you will see quicker spool-up...and once you get the exhaust....it'll be all worth it.

Okay, would the exhaust at http://www.genuinesaab.com/catalog/i...hp?cPath=64_66work with the downpipes at Jakstollperformance? (By the way did you find a difference between the early and late downpipes at http://www.jakstollperformance.com/9000.html?)
