I have a 1996 900se and the engine light is on I checked the code it's 1171 the car runs the same. I had it reset and it stays offf for a day and comes back anyone know what the code is it came back as manufacturer specific code not a standard

 

I believe it's the front oxygen sensor

 

I just purchased a 1996 saab 900, so I am a novice here. Mycheck engine light just came on. How did you check the code or get the code number.
