Default Engine Light

I recently purchased a 1996 Saab 900 Convertable. My engine light just came on and I am wondering how to check the code or find the code number?

Thanks for any info you can provide

Autoparts store that checks for free will do this for you.

Most autopart stores (autozone/VIP/pep boys) will scan the OBD-II for trouble codes. Personally, I (rather, my dad) has an OBD-II scanner.
You can check the trouble code with this site
http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/
edit: the receptacle for the OBD-II scanner is just above the pedals, look for a black plug.

Most T5 cars had a MAP sensor, the MAF came into play with T7 cars...
