Hi all I am not yet a Saab owner butthink i may be soon enough. I was looking at a '99 9-5 and was told that there is a common problem w/ them going into reverse. And the one i am looking at has had the trans replaced (5 spd BTW) and the trans they replaced it w/ now has the same problem. Other wise are they good cars i am really only looking for a beater you know an A to B car but i want to be able toi have fun on the commute. Look forward to gettingto know some of you!

Save yourself the trouble and stay away from the 1st model year 9-5. Get a late entry 2000 or 2001. Lots of options and lots of these still available. I'm sporting 177K on my 2001 9-5 as a DD, finishing up some mods and plan to drive until the V6 gives out at which point it is a new engine. I get 31 mpg highway.
