Default New Member, New (to me) Saab

Hello All,

New member to the forum. Just bought a 2006 9-3 yesterday. It's white with a cream/white interior. Any thing I should do first thing with it besides enjoy it?

First off, congratulations!

Second, I don't know how much research you did beforehand, but ensure there's synthetic oil in it and it's up to spec on fluids and pressures. Also, I use premium gasoline (some say midgrade is fine, I just don't do it).

Third, pick a CD of your choice, find a dry curvy road with little to no traffic, and have some fun!

If you didn't get the car from a Saab authorized mechanic, at some point you may want to swing by one to see if there are any recalls that haven't been done yet. There are places online you can research to see what recalls have been issued, if any.

Welcome to a great car! [sm=shades.gif]

Welcome to the forum. Couldn't have said it better than Benny. And +1 on not using midgrade and get a new set of sparkplugs (OEM NGKs, none of that bosch platinum crap) when you do the next oilchange.

Thanks guys!
It came from a Saab dealer. Still has 25k on the warranty. It has made my daily 184 mi. commute enjoyable. I'm aware of the synthetic oil requirement (next oil change it's getting some Schaffer Motor Oil put in it) + thanks for the tip on the plugs.

I haven't noticed a difference in the car's performance between the two gas types. The dealer said that he's been driving his for three years and has used 87 the whole time. First time I filled up on premium and the 2nd I used 87.

Ok...well. I tried to post the car from the dealership site.

the car adapts well to all kinds of gas, but being that it is a forced induction car it only makes sense not to put the lower grade in it. I feel safer with that extra cushion that may prevent detonation.

It's not in the owner's manual.
