programming a second remote; dealerships
Has anyone heard of a way to program a second (aftermarket) remote? You know the ones you can buy at Wal-Mart? The dealership told me "we don't program any remotes other than Saab remotes", which cost a lot I'm sure. So far everything I've bought or thought about buying has been way too expensive; and it's not just because it's manufactured in Europe. They wanted $200 for a set of hydraulic trunk openers---I got them at AutoZone for $35!

from what I know, if you want to install a remote car starter in a saab, you haf to do it through the dealership because of the intricate electronic systems and management computers involved. The car can simply reject the system and prevent the car from working all together.

What model are we talkin? If it's an 9-3 SS, don't even try. The T8 system in that car is so intence. The imobilizer unit is easy to confuse and brake, and very costly to fix/program.
