Default Sid2

I have a 2002 Saab 9-3, the pixels are mostly out on the SID and completely out on the ACC. I've found mine is SID2. I've seen many vids on youtube of people repairing these with replacement ribbon cables and it looks easy enough. Being cheap and really just wanting to DIY this, I've looked online and ebay for the ribbons. Most say to weld using a t tip. But I've found a couple non weld bond cables from pixelfix.net and akspeedo.com
Has anyone used either of these? The later only sells with the display attached, but at about the same price and free shipping. Any recommendations?

Default ?

am I in the right place? Did I post this in the right forum, or is there just no one here?

Anyway, I went ahead and ordered the sid2 ribbon cables from pixelfix. It seems to work well now, all the pixels are on and working, except for the clock. The pixels are all there but the clock is really dim, faded. I've taken it apart again and made sure all the contact points were clean and the ribbon connecting points lined up. Could it be a light bulb or something out? I thought all the light bulbs were just for lighting up the buttons.
