Default 93 2.2 TID problems starting..help

Hi all, I am new to the saab forums page and i really need some help! on boxing day my car wouldnt start, drove fine for 20 miles then when i got back in the car to start it she wouldnt fire up she was turning over but wouldnt start. AA came out and after giving the fuel tank a thud she started to splutter star then cut out again. The AA mechanic plugged his diag into the car with the fault 'crank shaft sensor low' i had a new sensor fitted the car started well then it doen it again this time the fault was 'egr failure'. with that i replaced the egr valve then off she went. Today the car cut out while i was driving and now wont start again. I have disconnected and reconnected the battery to see if the engine managemnet light would go out but this failed. now when trying to start the car all sorts off things happen. Oil light flashes, i get an ABS TCS failure message on the dash lights start flashing. Does anyone know what can be causing me so much grief. I have a friend who is a mechanic and he has suggested thatt a bad earth may be the cause of my problems? she is a 2004 model. PLZ help
