Default '99 9-3 Issues

Hey to everyone,

I just joined the Saab ownership family. I recently bought a '99 9-3 5 door, not really knowing what i was getting into. I had my mechanic do a few look overs of the car and he found a few issues. The issues he found I have since fixed except for two. First, my speedometer and odometer are not working. I had a generic computer run it and it flagged a speed sensor, when I told my mechanic that, he said it could be the ABS control module. I looked into the ABS control module and it ended up being a grand total of about 1,000 to have it replaced. Obviously I do not wish to pay this much for something that could be as simple as a sensor. Secondly, I'm having a problem where my 9-3 dies when I depress the clutch as I slow down. It happens only during downshifting or simply pressing the clutch in. On the computer for this problem it flagged a cam shaft sensor circuit malfunction. I recently replaced the CPS and it did not fix the problem. Do you guys have any input on what these issues could be or any theories on a fix? Other than these two problems, I am actually very happy with my purchase of the car and becoming a driver of one. Thanks alot and happy driving guys.
