Direct ignition module question....

Direct ignition module question....
Im looking for the first Saab I want to buy. Well, I have found one. Its a nonstarter because it says it needs a "Direct ignition module". Is this the same as a Direct ignition cassette? And if so, how hard is it to install one, where do I find one thats cheap, and how do I know which to buy, RED or BLACK?
This is for a 1999 9-3, manual, nonturbo(i think).
I appreciate any help in advance!
Cheers,
Matthew

RE: Direct ignition module question....
'99 9-3 should be a Turbo, AFAIK. Yes, the Direct Ignition Module would be the same as the Direct Ignition Cassette. A US '99 would have a T5 or Red DIC. They can be obtained on that auction site. They are very easy to install. It site atop the the engine in the center of the valve cover. Remove the bolts, unplug it, place some dielectric grease on the spark plug connections of the replacement, plug in and rebolt!

RE: Direct ignition module question....
if it has a DIC it's probably a turbo. I'd recommend purchasing a new DIC from eeuroparts.com and it would be a red one. However if it's a V6 or if it's really a non turbo than it's different.
