A/C comes on when started. A/C works only about 1-3 minutes. Then off for 5-10 mins. Will come back for few minutes more. When on, temperature seems cold enough. So unit is mostly off, but does cycle on periodically...but not long enough to cool car.

Suggestions where to look before taking to dealer?

Seems like a bad temperature sensor or thermostat, rather than compressor related. Ideas??

 

Could be a bad temperture switch or it could be shutting off due to high pressure in the lines. I think there's a switch there that is there specifically for that.
