I used to own a 900 turbo about 3 years ago... and now i have the oppertunity to return to the fold.

This time its a 93 2.2 tid

been for a test drive, but i have a few questions.

could i trouble you knowlegdable people for some feedback / advise

Been to look at said car, (01 - 93) and could do with some advice please

car starts & runs ok no warning lights.. within reason everything works..

now the ****les.

noise.. its not the most quiet of beasts in the Co*kpit, you can deffo hear

the turbo but i can in my car as well, i guess its because its so close to

the BH and its a tad clattery (lol)

performance wise it didnt feel as punchy as my 90BHP hack at the mo, but

then again i was trying to be nice to the owner it did pull cleanly tho.

Clutch/ gearbox.

i,m guessing the car has a hydraulic clutch? it was very light

however when depressed, and released, just as you reach bite point, I

could feel a rythmic pulsing throgh the pedal, in that you could almost feel

the rotational motion of the engine.

Once the clutch was engaged, it was fine with no rumbles or vibrations felt.

but as soon as you dipped the clutch, you get this feeling, momentarily

Is this normal? or a byproduct of the hydraulic clutch? or is it a normal Saab 93 charicteristic

Oh, and do the rear disks get fully swept by the pads? there was a 1cm

unswept ring on both outer edges of the rear discs

The pulsating I'm unsure of whether the vibration is normal on the tid. I know that I've never had it on a gasoline 9-3. The rear rotors aren't fully swept by the pads, that I know for sure. It sometimes results in a nice ridge around the rotor that needs to be ground off when getting them turned. And yeah, it's a hydraulic clutch.
