Hi all,

It is time to change oil in my 1999 9-3. I bought this car used and the lady that owned it used regular oil, nothing fancy from a Firestone dealership she took it to regularly. The vehicle has 93,000 miles on it and I would appreciate some comments what is a good oil to change into and stay with for the long run. Synthetic or high mileage oil ? Castrol and some other brand that works well with a Saab 9-3. Ratbobo

 

Mobile1 synthetic is the best oil to use hands down.

 

Mobil1 or Royal Purple if its a turbo. If it's the 2.3 N/A than regular oil is fine.

 

if its a turbo redline oil and greddy gr1,gr2 work great

Use either a mobil1 or a saab long life filter. Don't use Fram.

"High Mileage" oils are a "snake oil" and I wouldn't put that garbage in any of my cars.
