Default P1460 & 2000 9-5 Aero

00 9-5 Aero auto w/148K. My Bluedriver scan tool shows P1460.

Neither key fob will open the doors, central locking not working, LED on dash not flashing when car is locked like it normally does. No CEL.

Engine won't turn over when trying to start. There is a ticking, every second or so I think is coming from behind the dash. It continues to tick even after taking the key out of the ignition. I checked all pertinent fuses on left side of dash and all are good. I unhooked the battery, hoping for a reset, but no luck. No water issues under drivers seat by the TWICE module. I've tried starting it in N as well with no luck. In the 7.5 years I've owned it, there have been no water issues in the car. New battery in key fob but no luck. Headlights work. I have too many pixels out in the SID so I can't tell if there's a message there.

Bad TWICE unit?

Do not laugh, there is lesson... I had a similar problem after I changed the light bulbs in the high brake light. Advance Auto shop said to use size A95 bulbs. The bulb(s) voltage was lower so I thought okay. I had the same issues you are experiencing. I changed back the bulbs, correct voltage, and voila it started right up.

So, did you make any changes that could throw off the TWICE/DICE system voltage and put the car into no start/anti-theft mode?

Turns out it was the TWICE module as a local Saab mechanic confirmed. I didn't change anything, including bulbs, before this happened.

Thanks for chiming in. With cars, especially European, anything's possible.
